Windows 12 Officially Launches: AI-First, Cloud-Native, and Finally Fast
Microsoft's first major OS release in years rebuilds Windows from the ground up around Copilot and the cloud.

Windows 12 has officially launched, marking Microsoft's biggest OS overhaul since Windows 8. The new release is built around three pillars: native AI, cloud-first design, and dramatically improved performance.
Copilot is now woven into every part of the system — from File Explorer search to Settings to a system-wide command palette accessible via Win+C.
On modern hardware, boot times have been cut in half and battery life is up 25% on laptops. Even older Windows 11 machines see a noticeable speed-up.
The upgrade is free for all Windows 11 users and rolls out globally over the next 60 days.
